1 Samuel 30:1, 3, 4 & 6 (NLT)
…when David and his men arrived home at their town of Ziklag, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid into the Negev and Ziklag; they had crushed Ziklag and burned it to the ground. … David and his men … wept until they could weep no more. David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the LORD his God.

Author PhotoThe miracle that David experienced in 1Samuel 30 actually began in 1Samuel 29, and it started like a disappointment. David had just found favour with King Achish, even though the other Philistine kings mistrusted David and did not want him to join them in the fight against the Israelites. As a result, King Achishthen asked David and his men to return back to their land. It was when David and his men returned to their land that they found out that their land had been raided. In their terrible shock and grief, David encouraged himself in God, following which he received strength and direction from God to go after the Amalekites, 1Sam.30:7-8. God also did something wonderful for them. A slave of the Amalekites had been abandoned along the way. It was this slave that gave David and his men directions to exactly the Amalekites taken their families and property, 1Sam.30:11-16.

Do you realise that if David and his men had gone to battle with King Achish they might actually have lost their families and property forever? Without the help of this abandoned slave, they could also have lost their way in pursuit of the Amalekites. Child of God, your testimony cannot be corrupted or aborted. That thing that appears like a disappointment is actually working together for your good. God has strategically placed men and women who will be of great help to you just when you need it. All things are working together for your good, Rom.8:28. God will deliver you from every affliction that you face, Ps.34:19.

FAITH DECLARATION: All things are working together for my good. No matter what I face, I am strong, I am unstoppable and I am victorious in God.
