'With Courage and Faith'
Wait for the LORD with courage;
be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD.
- Psalm 27:14
Many of us are not good at waiting. Due to the wonders of the Internet, we no longer need to wait in line for a bank teller, for tickets to the cinema, for take-out food or a host of other things.

When we do have to wait, especially for an answer to our prayers, we are often impatient. As we await the Lord, we are usually anxious because of the seriousness of the situation. But that's largely because we are thinking of God as a request-filler, a clerk at a counter. We take a number (say our prayers) and wait for a reply.

Waiting for the Lord with courage could mean that we are meant to cooperate with God. We pray, yes, but then we go about doing our part to help the situation. Apparently, God longs for us to work with him, to be courageous through our actions and then, patiently and with faith, wait.
