Get Up and Get Going I Daily Walk Devotion
Have you ever sat and marveled at a talented person? Everything they touch seems to turn to gold. They have multiple projects going on at once, and new opportunities seem to come their way every day. You sit there and wish you could live a life like that. Maybe you even get a little jealous. What’s the difference between you two? You are sitting there while the other person has gone after what God put on their heart. Don’t just sit there, get up and get going.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:29‬
“For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have more than enough. But from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him”

A Lesson in Laziness
If you read this verse alone, you would think it was cruel. Why would someone take from someone who has very little and gives it to the person who has more? Doesn’t Christ tell us to give to the poor? This verse isn’t talking about the rich and the poor; it is talking about the faithful and the lazy. In the parable of the talents, you have three people who were given specific amounts of wealth by their master. They were expected to increase it before the next time they see him. Two doubled their initial allotment while the third one didn’t do anything.

Put that Talent to Work
Money isn’t the theme here the real theme here is what are you doing with what God has given you? Some people are given five talents, others two, and someone. We are expected to use those talents to increase the work of the Lord. Sadly, some people take what God has blessed them with and bury it and go on with their lives. They miss out on the opportunity to be used by Him and see that work multiply under the power of the Holy Spirit and our efforts.

Gripped by Fear
What causes people to sit on their talents? Fear. They are afraid that their efforts won’t produce what it is supposed to, they compare their talents to those who have more, or they are worried they will be rejected by those God sends them to Whatever the reason the person doesn’t step out in faith. Don’t let fear grip you. Pray for the courage and boldness to use your talent. When you do, God will multiply your efforts. Get up and get going.
