A BELIEVER ON THE FENCE?
TEXT: HOSEA 10:2
BIBLE TEXT:
Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images” (Hosea 10:2).
Sitting on the fence is an idiomatic expression. It describes the man who has no opinion, decision, and conviction of his own or at least is afraid of making it known. A fence-sitter always agrees with the last speaker. He/she wants to make everyone happy. He/she has no decision of his/her own. The kingdom of Judah had one of such as king in the days of Jeremiah. King Zedekiah was a sorry image of a fence-sitter; he danced to every drumbeat. Eventually, he lost his life. Jeremiah chapters 37 and 38 make an interesting reading. A believer is someone who has decided to repent of all his/her sins to follow Jesus. He/she rejects Satan, turns his/her back to the world. Don’t sit on the fence, beloved. Jesus says, “No man can serve two masters.” You can not belong to Christ and Satan at the same time. You cannot love the incorruptible God and the corrupt world at the same time. Like Zedekiah, a compromising believer shall forfeit God’s grace and mercy at last. Stand up for Jesus; don’t be a fence-sitter.

Challenge: An unstable person can never excel in anything.
Prayer: Lord, help me to stand even when the last man has fallen.
Quote: Stand up for Jesus; don’t be a fence-sitter
