Come to the Fountain of Life I Daily Walk Devotion
Have you ever stumbled upon a spring of water while you were on a long hike? There is nothing as refreshing as drinking the cold water that cascades out of the spring. That is the picture that Jeremiah paints for us today. Come to the fountain of life that Christ provides for our thirsty souls.

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭2:13‬
For my people have committed a double evil: They have abandoned me, the fountain of living water, and dug cisterns for themselves — cracked cisterns that cannot hold water.”

A Clear Voice
Jeremiah is a stark contrast to Isaiah. Isaiah was poetic while Jeremiah was blunt and to the point. Isaiah walked amongst the kings and nobles who sought his advice. The kings groaned anytime Jeremiah came near. They knew what he had to say wasn’t going to be flattering of them. He gets right to it in the second chapter of his book. The people of Israel have committed a double evil, abandoning God and relying upon themselves. They have dug spiritual cisterns that are cracked and useless.

Tap into True Life
Too many people today are drinking polluted water while the source of living water is right nearby. They espouse popular psychology and cliches that are all about self-empowerment in hopes of motivating themselves only to discover that they are lifeless. As Christians, we have this pure endless source of life that is available. We need to tap into that fountain of living water that not only sustains us but makes us come alive.

Come to the Fountain
Come to the fountain of life. There you will be revived from the weariness that the world thrusts upon you. Cast your cares on Jesus because His burden is light. As you drink from the living water, let it refill your hope in Him, who loves you more than anyone. Let Him overwhelm you with His Spirit because it is there in the overflow that we can minister to others.
